Traveling to Cambodia

Although tourists/general travellers are not yet permitted to enter Cambodia, you can enter with a pre-approved visa, and Destination TEFL can assist with this. To enter Cambodia, you will need to apply for the correct visa at the Cambodian embassy in your home country or closest to where you are residing. Destination TEFL will issue you with all the correct, Embassy-approved documentation to get your visa approved. This process can take between 5 to 10 working days, depending on your current location. Full visa assistance is offered.

The current visa cost, depending on at which Cambodian Embassy you apply, will be between $35 to $55.

Quarantine Cambodia

All arrivals need to be quarantined at selected government approved hotels in Phnom Penh on arrival for 14 days, and also require a negative Covid-19 test before flying as well as one on arrival. Unfortunately these selected hotels can NOT be pre-booked.

Current quarantine costs: $2000 deposit on arrival - part of which will be reimbursed by the government depending on spend, after the quarantine. Based on the refunds by recent trainee arrivals, those in a single room have received back on average $500 to $700 and couples have received back on average $800 to $1200 each.

We are offering a US$300 quarantine subsidy. This is a gesture of goodwill to offset a big portion of the quarantine costs on entering Cambodia.

NOTE - The quarantine subsidy is only applied to the full onsite TEFL program. This does not apply to the TEFL Extension program

Traveling to Bali

Although tourists/general travellers are not yet permitted to enter Indonesia, you can enter with a pre-approved B-211 visa, and Destination TEFL can assist with this. Destination TEFL will issue you with all the correct, Embassy-approved documentation to get your visa approved. This process can take up to 10 working days. Full visa assistance is offered.

The B-211 visa is a SINGLE entry e-Visa for business visits which will allow you stay up to 60 days. This visa can be extended a maximum of 4 times. Each extension is 30 days. This will allow you enough time to secure a teaching position (min eligibility criteria applies), and then change your visa to the relevant working visa in-country.

The current visa cost is $295.

Visa and work permit costs  – Bali: (PRE-APPROVED VISAS REQUIRED DURING PANDEMIC)

Most countries are able to enter Bali free of charge for 29 night and 30 days. This course falls in that time frame so you will be covered.

However, if you plan on staying any longer you need to purchase an ON ARRIVAL VISA upon arrival (at the cost of around 30$usd cash) which will allow you to extend your visa for an additional 30 days.

There are many visa agencies that can help this process once you are here. The cost is around $80usd. You are also able to arrange a 60 days Visa before you travel through an Indonesia embassy. Look on line to find the one closest to you, and also to check if your country has any other restrictions.

Visa and work permit costs  – Thailand:

Most nationalities can enter Thailand with a visa exempt stamp for 30 days, which can be extended at any immigration office by another 30 days for 1,900 baht, giving you 60 days before you need a new visa for working. The visa for working is called a non-immigrant B visa, and rates vary depending on whether they are done via an agent or in person, and how long is granted (90 days or one year) – between 2,000 and 5,000 baht. The work permit costs approximately 3,000 baht. There is no hard and fast rule, but generally the teacher pays for their non-immigrant B visa and the school for the work permit.
